From 3 December, Place du Casino will be adorned with lights to celebrate winter. Experience the magic and wonder of the Far North as Christmas and New Year’s Day draw near. And for the first time, you’ll be able to enjoy ice skating too!
Place du Casino. The enchanted ice path
For the very first time, you can skate around Place du Casino on a beautiful winter’s day! A dream come true that will reawaken your sense of childhood wonder, all thanks to Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.
Areal ice path will wind over more than 250 square metres between a forest of white fir trees decorated with garlands of lights, for an exciting change of scenery and guaranteed thrills! The Far North comes to Place du Casino, taking you on a magical journey where you can enjoy the fun of skating on your own, with your partner or family while admiring the light show – evoking the aurora borealis – on the elegant facades of the square. Skates can be rented from the little chalet at the entrance to the path. And if you want to immortalise and share these precious moments, head to the designated Selfie Spot on the ice path.
In monaco. Itineraries for food lovers
Indulge in some sweet and savoury treats as you stroll around town this festive season.
Everyone loves gourmet treats – not just the littlest among us, but also the big kids within us all. In Place du Casino, you can sit on the chalet’s wooden terrace and enjoy some Christmas cheer prepared by the Café de Paris. The menu includes crepes, waffles, Italian hot chocolate and mulled wine – for an instant boost! Nearby, the Patio de l’Hôtel de Paris immerses you in the magic of a German Christmas, in collaboration with the Albert II Foundation. Children can take part in gourmet workshops organised by the Pôle Sucré of the Hôtel de Paris, while the Boutique du Patio offers exclusive festive delicacies made by the Hôtel de Paris and Louis XV restaurant. Don’t leave without trying the creamy hot chocolate by the Manufacture de Chocolat Alain Ducasse.
On Avenue Monte-Carlo, the Chefs’ Gourmet Cabin will tempt you with more exquisite snacks, from lobster sandwiches to truffle croque-monsieur with foie gras and garoube liqueur, accompanied by a glass of champagne, mulled wine, or a floral liqueur spritz. The chefs have also put together a catering collection featuring gourmet hampers and a Michelin-starred festive menu, for sale between 24 and 31 December, and available for pre-order 72 hours in advance throughout the festive season (check out the full menu on montecarlosbm.com). At last, the shops on the Promenade Shopping Monte-Carlo will be open every Sunday in December.
A glittering array of events
The festive season will be punctuated by a host of events, until 8 January 2023.
