Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer headquarters has just received Green Globe certification, marking the group’s commitment since 2005 to a sustainable development policy.
Responsible electricity and water resource management, selective sorting and recycling policy, nature-based catering offer and more vegetarian and vegan menu options: the resort’s employees and green teams promote more environmentally-friendly practices on a daily basis. The group’s Aigue Marine headquarters has now achieved the precious certification designed for international tourism and travel professionals, in addition to the six Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer sites already certified. The Monte-Carlo Beach, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort and Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo were among the pioneers in sustainable tourism and are indeed Green Globe Gold Standard; the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo and Café de Paris have also been Green Globe certified since 2 019. The resort’s administrative headquarters has now joined this group of sites—a symbolic step confirming its determination to work towards eco-responsible practices. Green Globe certification is based on a list of more than 350 criteria concerning the environment and much more besides. Companies must meet comply with at least 55% of them. It encourages sustainable development management, among other things, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint and waste, promote cultural and natural heritage, ensure good working conditions for staff, and strengthen collaboration with local associations and partners. With a score of 83.3%, the administrative headquarters achieved an excellent result, a testimony to the group’s long-standing commitment. It is worth noting that the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo was re-certified on the same date with a score of 81.4%, a slight increase over its 2 019 score, and that the Monte-Carlo Beach obtained its certification this year for the eighth time in a row! A commitment from the teams to which the group’s customers also contribute.
