In line with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s active engagement in sustainable development practices, the group’s establishments have been recertified with the Green Globe label.
Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is extremely proud to have obtained its Green Globe Certification for the eighth year running! The international certification system was designed to promote and reward professionals in the travel and tourism industry who are committed to managing the social and environmental impact of their activities. Green Globe assesses companies based on more than three hundred indicators relating to greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water management and waste management; the goal obviously being to meet more criteria each year. While Monte-Carlo Bay has led the way, a total of six Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer establishments are now recognised by this international label. At the start of the year, the following establishments obtained their certification: the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo; Monte-Carlo Beach Relais & Châteaux (a resort that is closely connected to nature and home to the first Michelin-starred restaurant certified by Ecocert as 100 per cent organic); Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo; Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo; and Café de Paris Monte-Carlo. The new conference centre, One Monte-Carlo, has set up a green team to prepare its application, while the prestigious Casino Monte-Carlo and Casino du Café de Paris have also begun working towards the same goal. All of these initiatives reflect Prince Albert II’s commitment to sustainable development. The resort, which has been actively engaged in promoting green practices since 2007, has just signed off another roadmap, its 4th Sustainable Development Charter for the 2022–2025 period.
