With its new boutique in the heart of One Monte-Carlo, Zegg & Cerlati is pushing the boundaries of classic watchmaking. We take a guided tour.
For 25 years, Zegg & Cerlati has been the benchmark for fine watchmaking in Monaco, unveiling timepieces by the world’s top manufactures in its boutiques. This summer, the retailer opens its new space in the heart of the luxurious setting of One Monte-Carlo, a short walk from the Casino. Located next to Chanel, Fendi and Louis Vuitton, the 120-sqm store makes a complete break from the traditional design of watch boutiques. “We wanted a large space that felt young, modern and dynamic. Nothing is sectioned off, it’s a bit like an open concept space. There’s no question of a VIP lounge here,” explains Tina Zegg. What led them to this choice? “We’re totally in keeping with the times. The health restrictions mean that customers need space. They want to feel comfortable and not be in an enclosed, darkened place.”
What can we find in the display cases of this airy location? “For this new boutique, we wanted to refresh our inventory by presenting new and more exclusive pieces by our watchmaking partners. We also carried on this spirit of innovation by mixing high-end and more accessible pieces with iconic models, limited editions and major complications,” says the cofounder. In addition to collections by Breitling, Tudor, Cartier, Ulysse Nardin, Panerai, Zenith, Girard Perregaux and Franck Muller, visitors will be able to buy jewellery by the Zegg & Cerlati brand. Another plus for this boutique is the brand’s famously attentive customer service, with highly qualified sales staff on hand to offer valuable advice to clients.
