Artcurial

Monaco Auction Week

The international auction house returns to Monte-Carlo’s establishments and gardens this summer to present exhibitions and auctions of jewellery, watches, bags, comic books and sculptures.

Attention all connoisseurs and collectors! From 15 to 21 July, Artcurial is hosting a week of exhibitions and auctions at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, presented by the departments of Fine Watches, Jewellery, Hermès & Luxury Bags, Comic Strips and Monaco Sculptures. The jewellery sale held in January 2022 fetched a total of €4 million including fees, and this season the spotlight is on Cartier, Van Cleef, Bulgari, Chaumet, Boucheron and Buccelatti. The watch sale will feature rare lots including the Strom watch previously owned by Johnny Hallyday. The Comic Strips department is offering its first sale in Monaco, which will include a lot of 25 original drawings by artist Enki Bilal. In addition, the auction house is presenting a selection of bags in vibrant summer colours that promise to make the Hermès & Luxury Bags sale pop. Artcurial is also creating an open-air museum of sculptures that will be auctioned on 20 July, featuring pieces by iconic twentieth and twenty-first-century artists such as Wang Keping, Bernar Venet, César, Baltasar Lobo, Marino Marini, Christian Lapie and Philippe Hiquily. The sculptures will be displayed in the Jardins de la Petite Afrique, Saint-James, Beaumarchais Square, the Hôtel de Paris, Hermitage and Monte-Carlo Beach – perfect locations for a summer art walk. The lots include five rose compasses with a reserve price of €1,500, with many more pieces you’ll fall in love with.
